This process began with rough thumbnails for each spread, using a continuous, wavy line to guide the pacing and create a fluid, underwater reading experience. From there, the structure of the book was reworked by expanding key moments, especially the opening and ending into full spreads, allowing for stronger world-building and greater emotional impact. After finalizing the layouts, Cheecha moved forward by selecting key spreads to develop into full-color illustrations.
